On the weekend, we were trying to think of something to entertain our 20 month old. So we decided to head on in to the city. We ended up in Darling Harbour where we had lunch and caught the little train down to Darling Quarter kids playground. The train ride to the park was great as our son had a blast and couldn't stop smiling and actually sat still for the duration! At $4.50 pp it wasn't cheap, more reasonable but was worth the smile on his face.
We were very imprssed with the playground, it has a water section where the little ones can wade around in ankle deep water, change water flow directions and play with all sorts of water contraptions ad fountains.
There is also a 'dry' section with slipery slides and climbing ropes. The whole area has been refurbed with some nice restaurants and a great place to spend a day. Obviously, it's best to go when the weather is warm so the kids can play in the water but I have to say considering it is free of charge, it's a great place to take the kids. I'll be making it a regular.
If you plan on going, don't forget your towel and a spare change of clothes!
