medelasponsoredbreastfeedingdiary3I’m a new working – and still breastfeeding – mum who is time poor and quite particular when it comes to health and hygiene.

Having the right products to help with sterilising bottles and parts, along with an easy to use system for thawing and warming breast milk, is absolutely essential.

Now I’m back at work a few days a week, my husband is in charge of bottle feeding our daughter a couple of times on the days I’m gone. I’ve got a decent collection of frozen breast milk stored and all he needs to do is place the frozen bag in our Medela B-Well Bottle Warmer and the milk is gently thawed and warmed to the optimum temperature, ensuring all the essential vitamins and nutrients are retained. As soon as 34°C (+/-3°C) has been reached, the bottle warmer keeps the milk warm at a constant temperature for 20 minutes and then switches off automatically, so that the breast milk is not kept warm for too long.

Unlike other bottle warmers, you don’t need to keep your eyes on the machine which is particularly handy when you’re a busy baby wrangling father attempting to master more than one thing at the same time! Another great feature is its food warming setting which we’ve found to be really useful since our daughter has started transitioning to solids.

In terms of sterilising bottle and breast pump parts, you really can’t go past Medela’s Quick Clean Microwave Bags. It’s great to know while I’m at work or on the go, we can keep all the nasty household germs at bay each and every time we’re using this product.

We’ve done a lot of travelling over the past couple of months and it’s been so easy to pack the Quick Clean Microwave Bags and disinfect everything in less than three minutes which makes it faster and easier than boiling. During the cleaning process, hot steam is produced in the bag, killing 99.9% of the most common germs and bacteria. The process is also completely chemical-free, highly efficient and environmentally friendly, as you can use each bag up to 20 times – a big plus for those of us who are trying to reduce their footprint on the planet.
