World’s Biggest Playgroup Day

Playgroup NSW will host the World’s Biggest Playgroup Day at Tumbalong Park, Darling Harbour, on Wednesday, March 20, from 10am to 2pm.

More than 3500 people are expected to attend the free event – a highlight of National Playgroup Week.

Playgroup NSW CEO Sandy Kervin says the day is all about showing parents, carers and children what Playgroup is all about.

“The day really offers something for everyone.Mums, dads, carers and children – everyone will be able to play on a range of activities including physical, musical and educational play experiences, arts and crafts, including the special appearances of Dorothy the Dinosaur and Captain Feathersword as well as a meet and greet with CBeebies presenters Tara, Robbie and Duncan,” she says.

Also performing are Peter Combe, the ZingZillas by CBeebies, Lah-Lah’s the Big Live band and Loop de Loop.

 

Classic novels turn pink for breast cancer cause

Penguin Books Australia will launch a new series Pink Popular Penguins on March 19 to raise money for the McGrath foundation.

A selection of classic novels from the orange Popular Penguins tri-band design series will adopt pink covers as will the bestselling Alphabet Sisters by Australian novelist Monica McInerney.

Penguin Books will donate $1 from the sale of every Pink Popular Penguin to the McGrath Foundation.
